Paku is a US-born daughter of Maiv Ntxawm Thoj and Vam Kos Xyooj. She may not have direct experiences, but her memories and knowledge of HMoob history, the Secret War, and refugee life is inherited through the stories of her elders. As a young person growing up in a racialized, classist, and cisheteropatriachal world, Paku practice agency to remember, know, and be a HMoob person through visual art, particularly within landscape and nature illustrations.
Her piece, “Circles Within” was featured in the “Knock First” exhibition at the JMKAC in 2024.
